Are there big, hotly anticipated, major movies coming out this fall? The long-gestating sequel to Avatar? Black Adam? Sure. But none of them have the sheer magic of Weird: The Al Yankovic story, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as Al himself. From getting busted for going to a polka party to writing hit satires to making out with Madonna (Evan Rachel Wood), Al does it all. Often with his shirt off.

Is this biopic strictly accurate? What do you think? Here’s the summary:
The biopic holds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like “Eat It” and “Like a Surgeon” to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time.
I’m genuinely not sure who’s having the most fun here: Radcliffe, ranging from super-earnest to pretend-debaucherous, or Wood, getting a break from all the seriousness on Westworld and absolutely killing it in the process. The cast is great across the board, but I have a special fondness for Dickinson‘s Toby Huss, here playing Al’s dad; some among you will, as I do, always think of him as Artie, the Strongest Man in the World from The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
Weird: The Al Yankovic story was written by the man himself, Al Yankovic, along with director Eric Appel (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). It premieres on the Roku Channel on November 4th.
